I believe that all human beings have extrasensory, intuitive or psychic abilities. Though this ability will vary from person to person. For example, we can all draw; But there is a big difference between being able to draw stick people, to having the skill to create an accurate portrait of someone! Psychic ability works in the same way. But it can be enhanced. Just as someone can be taught to draw better, so can individuals learn to develop their psychic senses to a higher degree. Psychic abilities are connected to the five physical senses. Which is why, they are often referred to as the ‘sixth sense’. The sixth sense is the ability to see, feel, hear, smell, sense things, that are beyond what is considered to be the normal physical range. Psychic abilities can manifest in different ways.
Sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch are the senses we use to perceive and interact with the world around us. Many people have claimed to be able to sense, see or hear things, that are beyond the normal reach of these conventional senses. Some people claim the power of telepathy – which is the ability to perceive the thoughts of other’s, without having them communicated verbally or in writing. Others, claim to have the power of clairvoyance, which comes from the French for ‘clear-sight or vision’. Clairvoyance is the ability to see things which are hidden. Sometimes used in remote viewing, clairvoyance has occasionally been credited for people finding missing children and locating lost objects.
Other psychic or sixth sense abilities are: Clairsentience, which is the ability to psychically ‘feel or sense’ clearly. An ability connected to Clairsentience is Psychometry. Where an individual can, through holding an object, ‘read’ it’s history, and relate information about the people who have owned it or who have come into contact with it. Clairaudience, is the ability to psychically hear clearly. The voices of spirit who wish to communicate or psychic information related in a auditory fashion. Claircognisance, is the ability to psychically ‘know’ clearly. This knowing, is often described as ‘thoughts’ just coming into the mind out of nowhere. Many famous inventors and scientists over time have claimed to have received knowledge, insight and idea’s to develop their most famous inventions and discoveries this way.
The belief in psychic abilities and the sixth sense, date back thousands of years. The Greek historian Herodotus wrote that Croesus, who ruled a kingdom in what is now called Turkey in the sixth century B.C. consulted oracles. The oracles were a group of priests and priestesses, who claimed to be able to predict the future. Herodotus it was claimed, would consult them before making any important decisions, and would refrain from taking action if the ‘auspices’ were not good. In ancient India, Hindu holy men and Buddhist priests/monks were believed to possess the power to see and hear at a great distance, and to communicate with each other through telepathy.
Just before his assassination in 1865, President Abraham Lincoln told friends that he’d dreamed of his own body lying in state in the White House. In the 20th century, Edgar Cayce and Jean Dixon attracted wide followings by claiming that they could foresee future events. During the Cold War, the US military and intelligence services, spurred on by reports that the Soviets had psychics at their disposal, even tried to utilize clairvoyants themselves, who claimed remote-viewing powers for espionage purposes.
Developing your sixth sense can be extremely beneficial to you in many ways. You will learn to trust your ‘gut instincts’ more. You will find that you are naturally repelled by situations that are not right for you. Alternatively, you will be drawn towards opportunities, people and syncronistic meetings, that will be good for you, improving the flow of your life. Your decision making will improve. Making mistakes will be less common. Particularly in issues of trust and judgement. You will have a strong connection to the universal energy, which will enhance your natural creative abilities. A well developed sixth sense will encourage rapid spiritual development. You will find that you have an inner knowing, a sense of direction that you never had before. A strong sense of purpose that will guide you and not lead you astray. Do you use your sixth sense?
