We all have gut feelings about things that happen in our lives, yet not everyone takes notice of them, or more often than not people look at a situation after the event knowing that they could of acted differently. If they had took more notice of their feelings and thoughts. It is quite common that people will state afterwards that something was nagging away in their mind or stomach. We all get these feelings and thoughts, but its no help stating we saw it coming after the dust has settled. To be intuitive you need to act on those feelings before the event. Hopefully I will help you to do just that.
The word intuition comes from Latin verb intueri which translates as “to look inside” or “to contemplate.” Yes to contemplate and to think through something, the first law of intuition, is in learning to think through a problem properly, to use your common sense. More often than not the simple answer will probably be the answer you are looking for. The answer does not need to be complicated, just because the question sounds difficult. The answers more often than not stand out if you look at the question properly. Learn to read between the lines, learn to look closely at a subject, observe but do not make judgements and conclusions, let the answer open to you, like a flower opens to the morning sun.
Just as in the film The Karate kid, you cannot expect to become psychic until you learn the basics, you must at first as in the film, learn to wipe on and wipe off. In Meditation terms, you have to learn to empty your mind, and fill your mind. You empty your mind by thinking of nothing but something simple, an inanimate object is ideal as you will have no attachment to it. It is no good meditating on your problem directly, as you have probably already attached so many negative emotions to it. Learn to detach, you will not find the answer while you cloud your mind with negativity. Focus on an object such as a candle flame, let the flame fill your minds eye, let go of your worries for a moment and allow the flame to brighten the darkness of your mind. Think of nothing but the flame, and slowly but surely your mind will become brighter and brighter.
The art of meditation is to clear your mind of everything, it is near impossible to have no thoughts, but let us work at clearing the clutter so that we can see properly, in a sense it is like cleaning a room out, so that you have space to sit and think, without, cups, magazines and oddments cluttering the place. When the mind is still, the answers you seek will have the chance to show. Push away the thoughts of the day, the thoughts of the mother in law that does not give you a moments peace, let the work worries go and just focus on making your sacred space peaceful. If a negative thought comes, acknowledge it and let it go. So you can get back to the sanctuary you are making within the mind.
You are creating a temple to the truth within your mind, just as a guru or a priest would in a church or an ashram. The more you practice the easier it will become, your intuition needs to be cared for, you will never find the answers if you neglect your sacred space. Now you have found it once again, you will know how to harness the power of your intuition. Do you have any tips for the development of intuition?
